About YWAM
We have been involved with Youth With a Mission since 1982 for Tony and 1985 for Christine.
Since 1960
It was in the summer of 1960 that Loren Cunningham began to truly establish Youth With A Mission.
Youth With A Mission started from a vision in 1956, when Loren Cunningham, a 20-year-old student from the United States, spent a part of his summer break in Nassau, Bahamas touring with a singing group. And so the history of YWAM began.
What captured Christine and me, separately and in two different countries, was the simple idea that God called regular people to His gospel. Both of us received training before finally being in Manila, Philippines in 1986.
Youth With A Mission in the Philippines is a very typical expression of God growing people to spread the Gospel of Jesus to a nation hungry for life and truth.
The first YWAM team to visit the Philippines was led by Jim and Jan Rogers in December 1968. They stayed two months and witnessed in Manila and on the island of Mindoro.
Two years later, Ross & Margaret Tooley brought in a team called the Asian Circle Team that witnessed for two months in Manila and throughout parts of Mindanao. December 1971, Ross & Margaret’s team returned and YWAM has continuously been in the Philippines ever since.
We have served in YWAM a number of different times.
We meet and married in the Philippines while working there in Surigao City from 1986 to 1989.
We worked in Wellington, New Zealand from 1989 till 1991.
Again in Auckland, New Zealand from 1994 till 1997.
And now we have been working in Kona, Hawaii since 2016.
