Raising Partners in YWAM
Are you coming to this page as a YWAMer or someone else doing full-time unpaid work for the Kingdon of God?
Are you coming to this page as someone working full-time for the Kingdom of God?
For the second one, whether you are a nurse, truck driver, farmer, plumber, lawyer, or teacher, you are full-time in God’s Kingdom.
There is no distinction before God.
We may think there is a difference, or we might wrongly say that ‘full-time ministry’ is more spiritual.
But for God, there is no secular or sacred. All is sacred.
We all get to be part of building the Kingdon of God, of raising money and spending money, better still start by raising prayer partners.

Prayer Partners
It is too easy to say we are fueled by prayer without ever doing it or making our prayers insipid.
“Oh, heavenly Father, we come to you today to seek your guidance…”
I am being facetious, even disrespectful.
Yet, in our asking, we have two interesting counterpoints.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. James 4:3
And
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. 1 John 3:21
But we need to be fueled by prayer. If we are not in communication with our creator how are we to know when we are on target or not, we are solo agents, we are not the loane ranger. This is true for the YWAMer and the persons praying for the YWAMer and the YWAMer back praying for the person.
We need to raise prayer partners in both directions.
Did you come here as a YWAMer?
- Make a list of your friends.
- Reach out to them for a face-to-face or at the very least a video call, but not by email or text.
- Ask them, “What can I pray for, for you?”
- Some people get freaked out by this, so ask them, “Just in general, can I pray for you?”
- Write this down.
- Ask them, if I read anything useful or if God says anything to me, can I pass this back to you?
- Again, if this freaks them out, say, “Nothing heavy, just if anything encouraging comes across my path.”
- Now Do It—prayer for them. Keep a journal. Write down what god says to you.
- Communicate this back to them.
- Hopefully, they will also ask you what they can pray for.
- At this point, keep this to your vision, not your needs.
- Let them know what you are doing.
- Let them know why you are doing it.
- If they ask specifically about needs, share the needs then, but do focus on vision.
Did you come here as someone wanting to support a YWAMer?
You are in a very interesting place to help a YWAMer become better at being a Follower of Jesus.
Their need is right in front of their face. But they need to focus on their vision.
- Make a list of people you know in YWAM or other full-time unpaid work for the Kingdom of God.
- Reach out to them for a face-to-face or at the very least a video call, but not by email or text.
- Ask them, “What can you pray for for you.”
- Write this down.
- Ask them, if I read anything useful or if God says anything to me, can I pass this back to you?
- Now Do It—prayer for them. Keep a journal. Write down what god says to you.
- Communicate this back to them.
- Hopefully, they will also ask you what they can pray for.
This list mirrors the one above; however, you have an opportunity to be someone a YWAMer really needs.
A proactive friend.
Vision Partners
It is sad to think that our literate capacity did not last long, for today, we have become illiterate literate people.
We might be able to read.
But we do not read.
We can navigate our world of signs and instructions, headlines, and tic-tok titles, but we watch, we do not read.
And in being an illiterate literate people, we have once again become the serfs of a new band of techno noblemen, scratching out an existence in their fields, becoming their property, reduced to working on their terms.
All because we are once again illiterate.

Do you think Facebook, Instagram, X, Tic-Tok is free?
It is not. It is costing you – you.
Your are now the prodcut.
