We come from a world of trust.
Most of us, from our generation, come from a world of trust.
We tend to lead with trust, and when we interacted with people face to face this is a good way to start.
We let this attitude flow over to our use of a computers.
Facebook is not a trustworthy organization.
Useful? Yes.
Interesting and informative? Maybe.
Trustworthy? Definitely not.
What are we to do with this.?
Always verify.
A friend saying a thing on Facebook does not mean your friend said the thing.
When in doubt, reach out via a different medium. Call them. Meet them. Face-to-face conversations are where we need to conduct important conversations.
In Person vs Online
If a friend has never done a thing in person, but asks a thing online.
Be wise, be careful, be slow. Your friend would not rush you, call them before you do anthing, specially if it concerns money.
Does this mean we stop using them?

Choose what you share.
I do share pictures on Facebook, but I think about what I share, and sometimes I start to share a thing and say, no. I think I’ll keep that private.
Ours to Enjoy
Facebook is a tool that I realise sees me as the Product, to be sold to the highest bidder.
I still enjoy Facebopopk, but use it for the things I want to use it for.
Creating a Social Filter.
We can have things that we do that start small and then become a large part of our lives.
Our online activities can be like this.
We start with emails and move to reading websites.
We start with trusted websites and newspaper websites and then move on to new media websites.
Next comes videos, watching the news on YouTube, then Spotify, Rumble, and Locals.
Before we know it, we may have gone down a rabbit hole and not even know it.
The World has Changed
The world has never been a trustworthy place.
We need to learn to rank our sources.
I used to trust Main Stream Media, but I don’t anymore; they are a prime place where they are trying to get me to agree rather than inform.
I gather trusted sources and do not react to the first sound bite of a new news story.
Socail Media is only some what usefor as a news soure, I also like to follow the news back to it’s origins, and if I can not then that source becomes less trusted.

Nar.
Just joking.
But Ground News is an interesting site to use to see what sources are saying about a particular item in the news.
