The will of God is impossible to miss.

  • God is not so distant that you can not see Him.
  • God does not speak so quietly that you can not hear Him.
  • God is not so busy that He forgets you.
  • You are His delight.

Faith is asserting these realities regardless of what you think or what you feel, or even what you believe.

God wants to work with us, live with us, commune with us. Our lack of practicing the presence of Jesus is what makes God seem distant and cold.

The will of God is possible to ignore.

What has your attention?

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

What is this, “wait for the Lord?”.

Well, what is your delight?
Where do you spend your time?
How do you start your day?
How do you end your day?
What plays in the theater of your mind as you drift off to sleep?
What do you do if you are wide awake in the middle of the night?

1. no condemnation

An important place to start when practicing waiting on the Lord is asserting your position in Jesus of no condemnation.
Romans 8:1-3
Here is a simple and powerful idea.
…for those who are in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation.

This doesn’t mean you are not condemnable, just that as Jesus doesn’t condemn you, you therefore have no right to condemn yourself. What right do you have to condemn that which Jesus does not condemn?
What are you going to live under?

The law of sin and death or the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus?

2. battle-ready

A second place is to be battle-ready. Condemnation makes us incapable of entering the battle.

Now, we do not fight against flesh and blood.
We put on the full Armour of God.
We destroy speculations (not people) 2 Cor 10:5, and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

3. expectant prayer

A third place is expectant prayer, where you ask God a question and wait for an answer.

The more you know God’s words, read the written words of Jesus, and live the ideas these embody, the clearer God’s voice will become.

You will discern what is God, what is you and what proceeds from the father of lies.

4. ideas

A fourth area is understanding the power of ideas and, sadly, the power of lies.

What are you holding close to you that is not from God?

Hurts, bitterness, confusion, anxiety, trauma. Sieve all ideas: taking every thought captive.

Speak good ideas to one another.

5. cultivate joy

Five, cultivate joy.

The joy of the lord is your strength.

Learn to move your decision-making process from flight or flight to joy.

When you get to escape condemnation, you get to be able to engage those things that bring you joy.

Joy gives you the power to move to a decision-based life.

6. act, don't react

Six, means to learn to act, don’t react.

Jesus never reacted. Even when clearing the temple of money changers with a whip, this was Jesus being proactive not reactive.

These six simple ideas help you move from doubt to assuredness—confusion to clarity. You will find more ideas to add to this list.
.

Another area.

When our needs are unmet, we think God does not care.
When our needs overshadow our lives, we ignore God.

A needs-based prayer life keeps us focused on our needs rather than on the Father of our salvation.

But we all have needs.

Learn to cultivate a prayer life that is not ministry-oriented or needs-oriented.
This does not mean we can not pray for these things; it just means that we don’t lead with them.
But even if you lead with them, cast these cares on God, now leave them in His hands, and focus on a life orientated around Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Let’s recap.

The will of God is impossible to miss.
The will of God is possible to ignore.
